So let's say both drive the same car and are accommodated with the tracks and the car, and they compete over a whole season. Hamilton is known for his exceptional speed, consistency, and racecraft. On the other hand, Farina's style and recklessness would make him a formidable opponent.
Of course, predicting the outcome of such a race is purely speculative. I would say that Farina could impress us and steal a couple of P1s, given that men were truly built differently back in the day. However, I believe Hamilton would come on top for most of the races.

Nino Farina - before becoming an F1 driver.
Farina had a really interesting journey that shaped his career and set him apart from his peers. As a young Italian boy born into a family that eats, sleeps, and breathes racing, Nino was a bit of a daredevil, taking his first spin behind the wheel at the tender age of nine. His father, Giovanni, opened a bodywork shop called Stabilimente Farina on the day Nino was born. His uncle founded the coachbuilding firm of Pininfarina, renowned for designing many sleek Italian sports cars and still is in the business.
We could say that Nino Farina was born with a silver steering wheel in your hand!
At 16, he accompanied his favorite uncle Pinin as a passenger in a race. At the age of 19, he bought a second-hand Alfa Romeo and entered the 1925 Aosta-Gran San Bernardo Hillclimb, competition that ended in an accident. Those were some crazy times given that he was trying to beat his father when he crashed, breaking his shoulder and cutting his face, setting a worrying trend that continued throughout his crash-prone career!
Farina was both athletically and academically inclined. He got a law doctorate in Turin, but the call of the open road was too strong, and Nino traded his law books for a racing helmet.
He did drive intelligently and with style, but he had problems paying attention to the other racing participants. More so, he was involved in two fatal accidents in 1936-38!
Fast and Fearless: Nino Farina’s F1 Career
Farina’s route to becoming the first-ever World Champion was less straightforward. He began his military service as a cavalry officer, then joined a tank regiment, in which he would serve during the war. Meanwhile, he continued to be obsessed by the lure of mechanical horsepower harnessed for competition purposes.
Farina's career in Formula 1 spanned from 1950 to 1955, and he won the first-ever Formula One championship race, the 1950 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, and triumphed again in Switzerland and Italy. He relied on a combination of profound self-belief and raw courage to compensate for the superior skills possessed by many of his more naturally talented opponents.
Yet he also drove recklessly and few Formula One drivers ever competed with such apparent disregard for their safety.
One of Farina's top qualities as a driver was his exceptional car control. He had a natural talent for maneuvering his car with precision and finesse, making him a force to be reckoned with on the track. Farina's ability to read the race and make split-second decisions also set him apart from his competitors. He possessed a keen strategic mind, allowing him to make calculated moves and exploit every opportunity that came his way. These qualities, combined with his unwavering determination, made him a formidable opponent on any circuit.
Farina’s Life After Racing
After hanging up his racing gloves, Farina didn’t fade into obscurity. He retired with one World Championship, 20 podiums, five Pole Positions, and four Fastest Laps. He may have left the track, but his legacy as the first-ever World Champion lives on.
Farina remained involved in the motorsports world in various capacities. He served as a team manager and mentor to young drivers, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience. Farina's contributions to the sport were recognized when he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2005.

Off the track, Farina was known for his suave and sophisticated lifestyle. He had a passion for fashion, and his distinctive style became synonymous with his persona. Farina was known for his impeccable taste in clothing, often seen sporting tailored suits and stylish hats. He married Elsa Giaretto, a fashionista who ran an exclusive fashion emporium in Turin. Despite her attempts to steer him away from the dangerous world of racing, Farina’s love for speed was too strong.
