Therefore, Red Bull and Pérez mutually agreed to end their four-year partnership, with Liam Lawson stepping in as his replacement. Checo took 2025 as a sabbatical year, and it clearly did him good. In August 2025, Cadillac announced that Pérez had signed for their debut 2026 campaign, with Checo describing it as “a huge responsibility” and expressing his desire to shape Cadillac into “the team of the Americas.” We cannot wait to see him back on the grid!

Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, Pérez carries racing in his soul. He began competitive kart racing aged just six, and fought his way through the junior ranks to reach Formula 1. Over 15 seasons, he built a career defined by tyre mastery, relentless consistency and breathtaking late charges. He claimed six Grand Prix victories and finished runner-up in the 2023 World Drivers’ Championship. His loyal fanbase is probably the most passionate on the entire grid, and never stopped believing in him!

Sergio Pérez’s portrait captures his fighting spirit and the pride he carries for Mexico every single race weekend.
